Congratulations to Sadie, the Scottish Terrier who won the show this year. She's been a big winner with 111 Best In Show wins. That's really big! Also, congratulations to LadyBug, the Portuguese Water Dog who finished third in the Working Group.
Personally, I thought this was the worst production of the Westminster show I've ever watched. The announcer had a terrible time reading his script and mispronounced several of the breeds. He skipped one altogether and read the same description twice. He could also be heard complaining several times over the air about various things. Not very professional. The camera angles were also bad. We saw more of the judge's rump than we did the dogs.
Last weekend Fudge was feeling romantic and sent valentines to several doggie girls that he finds very attractive. Each of them answered him and some sent him valentines in return. He wants me to show off his valentines.

I was sick over Christmas and didn't pay much attention to my houseplants. My Christmas Cactus decided to wait till I was feeling better to flower. There were a few scattered blooms at the holidays, but now they're both in full bloom.
This is the old girl who flowers every winter for me and has for over thirty years.
This is the newer plant. The secret seems to be a bright, cool place.
The dogs and I have been snacking on animal crackers in the afternoons. It started when I was sick and could only eat bland food. Animal crackers fit that description. When I was restocking this weekend I found these. What better snack for water dogs than Sea Creature animal crackers? They tasted really good, more buttery than the regular ones.
Now for an apology. Several of you have sent me e-mails over the last several months that I never received. Yesterday my e-mails found me. 8419 e-mails to be exact. Where have they been? They went back almost two years. There were a couple from people who I had requested information from and when I never received an answer, I got annoyed. I apologize. You did answer and the great email hiding place was holding your answers.
I skimmed thru all eight thousand, deleting a hundred at a time. I'm hoping that now that g-mail knows I'm here, they'll let my mail come thru and not hold it in outer space for months or years at a time.
Now back to fun stuff.
Samba found a big stick.
This may not look like much to you, but it puts a big smile on my face. To see Samba chewing a big stick is a great accomplishment.
Dr B says she has 90% of her jaw movement back.
We'll settle for 90%. She's in no pain and having very few side effects from the steroids, except the hair loss. The hair on her legs has grown back in, but her tail is practically naked and she's lost a lot of hair on her body. No problem. We have sweaters and jackets for the cold weather and soon it'll be warm again. She also has a good chance of growing the hair back as the dosage drops.
Not to be outdone, Morgan had to have a big stick, too.
Morgan is a power chewer.
Bailey felt the need to get in on the stick chewing. It was a good way to pass a lovely afternoon.
