Let Them Eat Cake

Today is a big day. It's Valentine's Day and Fudge's Birthday.
We need to celebrate.

This morning Rob went out for a while and when he came home, look at what he brought with him.

Real cupcakes. 24 of them, enough for each of us to have two.

Norma Jean is still in the cone of shame. This is a new fancy padded one. She cracked two of the clear plastic ones this week, so now she can't see as well, but this one seems to be working.

It's a nice padded nylon that doesn't hurt nearly as much when she crashes into the backs of our legs.

It wasn't snowing yet, but it sure was cold when we went outside to party. The dogs didn't seem to mind the cold.

Morgan was thinking about those little cakes.

Sky is always ready to eat.

Tsar though he smelled cake.

Here come the little cakes.

We divided them up to keep control of the situation. The first five were ready to get started.

Sky's tongue got started before he even tasted the cake.

The little cakes were just the right size to pop into their mouths.

Tsar was tired of waiting and stood up to get his.

He licked all the frosting off before eating the cake.

Sky saw that it worked for Tsar, so he tried it too.

The birthday boy had a turn.

Then this group each had a second cupcake.

Tsar thought they were really good and thought it would be really nice if there were some more.

Then the next group came outside. Noah, Tess, Lola and Bailey sat nicely waiting for their turns.

Notice that Tsar is trying to sneak into this group and get some more cake.

Bailey decided that she likes cake, as if there was any doubt.

Noah had no trouble getting his share.

Lola likes cake, too.

Tess is learning to sit up nicely to ask for a treat.

Here we go on round two.

Noah gets his second cupcake.

Poor Norma Jean had to celebrate wearing her hat. It was a little messy, but that didn't stop her.

There were four cupcakes left. Those were for Rob and me. We added some biscuits for our buddies, and went back inside to warm up.

I poured some hot coffee and Rob and I sat at the table to enjoy our cupcakes.

Happy Birthday, Fudgie.
