One night last week we had a heavy fog and in the morning when we went outside the woods were all sparkly.
The moisture in the air had frozen on the trees and when the sun came out it was really beautiful.
Everything in the yard was coated with a thin layer of ice which brought back memories of the big ice storm three years ago. I started thinking about what we'd need to do if the power went out again. Fortunately, the power stayed on and the sun eventually melted the ice.
It's impossible not to appreciate the beauty even while planning for disaster.
This spider was nowhere to be found. I hope he had a warm place to hide till things warmed up. He had dog hair in his web. It's everywhere!
Tsar thought it was great and wanted to stay out to enjoy the view. I had other ideas. I wanted him inside where he'd be warm and dry.
I didn't have to argue with Morgan. She was more than ready to find a blanket to curl up in.
Back in the house I made a cup of tea and sat at the kitchen table to drink it. There I had the opportunity to enjoy the roses that Rob gave me for my birthday. Have you ever noticed that white roses don't have much scent?
The red ones more than made up for it with their heavy perfume. I love that smell.
It snowed all day yesterday, but didn't stick to the ground. It's snowing again today, but there is a strong, cold wind along with the snow. We've been cutting our outings short because none of us like that wind. Even Tsar came in without a struggle.
I think Tsar is pleased about finishing third in MangoMInster. I know I am. He enjoyed the back massage and belly rub that we gave him for winning. In true cat-like fashion, he doesn't get very excited about much. I want to thank all his friends who voted for him and all the folks who helped to run this event. It took a lot of work and we appreciate it.
