The Fourth of July

Happy holiday to all our US readers. We're having a very busy day.

When we went out this morning, Dad got our wading pool out and brought the hose over. Today's a hot day so some cool water sounded like a good idea.

Wait girls, we can't all get in at the same time. The pool is too little.

Oh oh, here come Norma Jean, the splashing queen.

Samba thought it would OK to get in with Norma Jean.

There she goes.

Where did everybody go? No one wants to be near Norma Jean when she starts paddling.

Sky says, "Can't you make her stop?"

Dad thought up something for the rest of us to do while Norma Jean splashed.

This was a good idea. Chasing paper airplanes is always fun.

Samba got a chance to get wet when Norma Jean was distracted.

A wet dog is a happy dog around here.

Here's our chance to play in the water.

She's back again.

Throw another airplane, Dad.

Bailey, you dropped your monkey, but it's OK, Tsar will watch it for you.

Bailey is busy chasing airplanes.

After we catch them, we tear them up.

Morgan eats hers.

While the girls were all busy with their airplanes, I decided to check out the pool.

Lola came to see what I was doing.

Wait a minute, this is my turn. Those pushy girls are back again.

Look who's back throwing water all around.

The girls got the zoomies and raced all around the yard.

Mom said it was a good way for them to dry off. Then we went inside for a little while.

Dad said he had a treat for us. I wonder what it is.

Last year they put the watermelon in the big pink tub, but Mom said some of us were pigs and others didn't get their share, so this year they put the pieces in our bowls.

Here we come!

The watermelon is sweet and cold. It tastes great on a hot day.

Everybody has their own share.

Noah is a slow eater.

The girls gobble theirs down fast.

It got pretty quiet while we were all eating.

Mine tasted great.

Tsar wouldn't eat it from his bowl, so Dad threw him a couple pieces.

He put them down on the ground and sniffed them.

I'm sorry, but I don't like it.

Tsar's funny about food. Sometimes he doesn't eat at all and sometimes he'll only eat certain things. Sky and I finished up the pieces that Tsar didn't want and Morgan got the ones on the ground. They tasted pretty good to us.

This has been a super weekend so far. How are you all spending your holiday?
