Lots To Celebrate

It's hot here. Yesterday was 97 and this morning the thermometer in the back yard said 100. We're staying inside as much as possible, but that doesn't mean we aren't busy. We have so many things to celebrate this weekend.

Today is Canada's Birthday, so we salute our friends to the North.

Later this weekend it's our turn and our country will celebrate it's birthday.

Speaking of birthdays, our friend Chan is celebrating one today, too.
In honor of all these important birthdays Morgan and Tsar, our resident singers, burst into a rousing chorus of Happy Birthday.

But we aren't stopping there.

You all know that Samba has been recovering from surgery on her foot and has been forced to wear this hot, ugly hat for almost two weeks.

This afternoon Dr B pronounced her foot healed and removed the stitches. That meant the hat came off and Samba can feel the wind blowing past her ears again. She's much happier and so are all the rest of us. We're doing a happy dance around here now that we won't be getting hit with that cone.

Now, other than singing and dancing, how will we celebrate this weekend? Rob and I will go out tomorrow evening for a nice steak dinner. I can almost taste it. Steak covered with bleu cheese and a hot baked potato with cheese and onions. Yum!!

My fur kids can't join us at the restaurant, but they will get a chance to party this weekend, too. On Saturday afternoon they'll enjoy some icy cold watermelon.

Then on Monday they'll get to try something new. Popsicles! Dogs I've had in the past enjoyed them, so we'll try this group. The only problem is that we'll need to divide them into groups because we have to hold the sticks for them. I don't think they'll complain.

So that's how we're celebrating our holiday weekend. We hope you all have fun this weekend and remember to stay safe.
